Way to Go Red Wings!

The lighting was bad in here but that is Mark and a 2 year old Dayton standing by the Stanley Cup.
Kurt Maltby is signing Dayton's shirt, doesn't he look thrilled?
Two big fans standing in front of the Spirit of Detroit

We are so excited that the Detroit Red Wings won the Stanley Cup tonight! Mark and Dayton are huge Wings fans and after the 3 over time loss on Monday night we were afraid to get our hopes up tonight. Everyone rushed home from baseball tonight to tune in to see if the Wings could seal the deal tonight in Pittsburgh and they did! Detroit is a huge hockey town, I had never seen anything like it until we moved into the metro area. About 10 years ago we went downtown when they were in the finals and got to see the Stanley Cup and have our pictures taken with it. We also took our pictures by the Spirit of Detroit who always adorns the largest jersey in the world! We stood outside the parking lot of the Red Wings and were able to get Kurt Maltby's autograph on Dayton's shirt, he was so scared! Mark put him right in his window! It was a fun day and the town was going crazy! Tonight it was kind of sad because they won on the road, the welcome parade is going to be amazing I am sure! I could hear gun shots going off after the win, someone was really celebrating! (No one was hurting anyone, that is just what we do out here in the country when we are excited!). Way to go Wings!!!!!!

I still think that Dayton needs that T shirt "My Daddy beat up Darren McCarty!" ..or was it the other way around? :D

Yeah Hockey Town!!! Wasn't it an exciting game... especially that last shot that just skimmed the line by the net... my heart was palpating! I thought it was going to be OT again! I sooo want to go to the parade tomorrow, but I have to work!
